The frame measures 21 by 16 and one half inches and the painting measures 16 by 11 and one half inches. Originally sold by Simic New Renaissance Galleries of Carmel La Jolla Palm Desert Scottsdale, inventory number 8606. Born in Campagnia, Florence, Bissi was an artist for 50 years. He specialized in painting his native countrymen going about their daily lives, but also traveled around Europe and the Mediterranean. This scene is probably Algerian or Moroccan. His work is distinguished by his lightly dashed brushstrokes and high contrast saturated colors. Item# 6279    $1,800.00
