The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, oil on canvas, 18th century. Standing under the Holy Cross is St. John, the disciple of Jesus Christ. It was painted by a trained artist, but is unsigned. The canvas measures 66 inches wide by 81 inches high. In good original as found estate condition.

William Bailey framed drawing of a young woman 1962. This drawing measures 8 by 9 inches and is in a 14 and one half by 13 and one inch frame. Signed lower right. William Bailey was born in 1930 and is an important American artist. One of his still life paintings titled "Still Life with Slate Green Wall" sold at Sotheybys in NY on March 3 1989 for $137,500. Period antique China trade oil on canvas of the merchant ship Southern Cross of Liverpool, circa 1857, H. Manly, Commander. This particular type of sailing ship is called a barque. It is shown sailing into Hong Kong port with Hawks Peak in the background. The barque has gun ports painted on its sides, although it does not have any cannon. These ships were so painted to deceive marauding pirates. If pirates believed a ship was manned with cannon, they were were much less likely to attack it. This painting has been cleaned and mounted in a period appropriate museum copy frame and museum stretcher.

Set of six English lithographs "The Lives of London" beautifully mounted in original rosewood frames under reverse painted glass. Original stamp on back "J. F. Olson and Company Art Dealers and Publishers Cambridge Mass." The frames each measure 20 and three quarter inches by 17 and one half inches. The prints each measure 11 by 14 inches. Excellent condition. These hand colored lithographs date from the early to mid 19th century.

A Marchand French oil on canvas c1900. This interior scene depicts a gentleman talking with two ladies. This painting is done in the 18th century style. The painting is framed in a wonderful of the period gold leaf frame. Andre Marchand was born in Paris on November 22 1877 and died April 18 1945. See E Benezit page 162 to learn more about the artist. The frame measures 36 by 40 and one half inches and the painting measures 31 by 25 inches. Excellent condition.
