Austrian 18th c portrait of a gentleman

18th century Austrian portrait of a gentleman. He wears a powdered wig, a red waistcoat, brown topcoat, and white ruffled shirt. His eyes are dark blue and his eyebrows are distinctively arched. Unsigned. Restretched, cleaned and restored. The original stretcher was dated 1784. Purchased in Vienna in the sixties. Canvas is 19.75 x 27 inches; original gold leaf frame is 22 x 29.5 inches.

Caribbean, Cuban, or Latin portrait of a man seated at a window, holding a mango in one hand. The outdoor view of trees and distant hills is rendered in pale colors suggesting spring. Signed at lower right Morse, and dated verso April 1962. Oil on canvas. Canvas is 24 inches wide x 30.5 inches high. Frame is 28.75 inches wide x 35 inches high.
