Artist,"Johan Ulrik Bredsdorff" Antique Scandinavian oil paintings,Oil on canvas by artist Johan Ulrik Bredsdorff dated 1884. Bredsdorff was born 1845 and died 1928. Wonderful woodland landscape oil on canvas with great light coming through the trees. Excellent use of color. This antique oil painting measures 18 inches by 28 inches. The original gold leaf over wood frame measures 28 inches by 38 inches. Fine condition.

Modern art print by American artist "George Giusti" AGI, ADC, NDAD Born: Milan 10 October 1908. George Giusti of Italian and Swiss parentage, was trained at the Reale Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. He worked as a designer in Lugano from 1928 to 1930 and in Zurich from 1931 to 1937, then went to the United States and for about a year was employed in government offices in Washington,D.C. Having moved to New York in 1939, he started a freelance practice and designed posters and various forms of publicity material for the US Department of Agriculture, the US Army Air Corps and joined the Famous Artists Schools, Westport, Conn.,in 1959, and now acts as editorial and advertising designer and consultant for industrial concerns and publications. His work was shown at the AGI exhibitions as well as in New York, San Francisco, Rochester, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and under the auspices of the State Department, in South America, Europe and Japan. Between the years 1945 and 1959 he won ten gold and silver medals and thirty other awards, and in 1958 was elected Art Director of the Year and awarded the Golden T-Square

Antique painting, "American Art" portrait, "American women artists" female artists. Oil on canvas portrait of a young woman by CT artist Fannie Burr circa 1880. The beautiful sitter is a girl of about 15 years wearing a black coat, a plumed hat, and gloves. She holds a fan. Fannie C. Burr born 1858, died 1931 in Monroe, CT. Exhibition at the New Britain (CT) Museum of American Art in 1990 by the Connecticut Gallery. The artist attended Mt Holyoke College, Yale School of Fine Arts, and the Art Students League. That was an unusual amount of education for a young woman at that time. Fannie Burr is Listed in Who Was Who in American Art. Frame measures 42 and one half inches by 31 inches. Canvas measures 25 inches by 35 inches. ** By the consignor's request the price of this item has been reduced from $12000 **

"Mabel Spain paintings". Watercolor western or southwestern American mountain landscape signed Mabel D. Spain dated 1938. Mounted in an Eli Wilner period reproduction gold leaf frame. This wonderful watercolor measures 11 by 14 inches. The frame measures 16 1/2 by 19 1/2 inches. We were not able to find any information about the artist, but she seems to have been influenced by the Cubists.
